Michigan Maple Block

Ash Butcher Block Countertops

Ash Butcher Block has always been one of the species we manufacture. Less known than typical Maple, Red Oak and Lyptus, Ash is one of the undiscovered gems in our product line. For years the striking grain qualities have attracted the commercial dining industry. Now homeowners are discovering this wonderful butcher block product.

Ash countertops add a new and interesting option to the offerings of Michigan Maple Block Co. and Bally Block Co., Ash offers very nice grain quality while maintaining a slightly lighter appearance than Red Oak. Currently we do not stock ash countertops but the standard sizes are listed below.

3" Ash Top

Here is a great example of an Ash Island Counter Top. As you can see there are striking contrasts with ash making it one of the woodiest of all the woods we glue. This particular top is mineral oiled making the contrast even more interesting. For those interested in a countertop or island top which makes a true statement this might be the choice for you. People choosing this option should be aware that as Ash ages it mellows to even out some of the striking variations.
